Our film, ‘Too Easy: A Hood Musical,’ was a masterclass in this principle. We didn’t jump in with a preset plan. Instead, we spent six months embedded within a street dance community, learning the culture from the concrete up. Our mission was to make a film for them, not just another story about them.
